Re: New install of Centos 8 using AMD Ryzen 7

HI, I have the same phenomenon here: Warning: Intel CPU model - this hardware has not undergone upstream testing. I understand that it refers to the certification list of Red Hat, nevertheless I have two questions: 1) The message says Please consult http://wiki.centos.org/FAQ for more information. B...

Re: Option to update rhythmbox?

Sox is fine for manipulating or playing single files, but no solution for intensive work with sound files. E.g., I cannot pause and rewind while playing a file.

Re: Option to update rhythmbox?

But I would have to take that from a third-party repository, or compile it myself (which is time consuming). Neither rpmfusion nor rpmforge nor negativo17 offer mplayer for CentOS 7. From nux I had a buggy multimedia application once, and don't want to use it again. I tried CentOS because I was inte...

Re: Option to update rhythmbox?

Generally yes. I already tried xmms, but I cannot find a flac-plugin. And I cannot find xmm2 in CentOS, which is a pity because it is very powerful. I only use free codecs, but I need the option to work with lossless and compressed formats (flac and ogg would be preferrred options). Any suggestions ...

Re: Option to update rhythmbox?

In understand this - this is why I asked if there is a way of updating rhythmbox manually.
From bugzilla it becomes clear that many users have this problem with rhythmbox, and it's not a solution to wait for the point release 7.3, especially as the reason for the bug seems to be known and solved.

Reinstall the group named "Xfce". If you have problems with installing a group, you should have a look here: https://access.redhat.com/discussions/1262603

Option to update rhythmbox?

Hi, everytime I quit rhythmbox after playing a file, it crashes. This is known as bug #9923 https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=9923 However, it seems to be fixed in upstream with a newer version of rhtyhmbox: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1298233 My question: Is it possible to update ...

Re: epub reader?

I created a build environment according to https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_c ... PM_package, took the source code of liblinebreak and fbreader from https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6 ... index.html, and recompiled the packages for CentOS 7. Worked.
