with these lines you'll have a basical gui
yum groupinstall "X Window System"
yum install gnome-classic-session

maybe it is not booting on runlevel 5, try this
systemclt set-default graphical.target
if not try typing
startx
from console

+1, since I found rufus it works like a charm! :mrgreen: , but even rufus sometimes fails and tried

Can you acces to console?? try typing startx If gui doesn't start take a look at the errors on the screen. hi,
maybe if you are new to linux you should use a desktop version like fedora, opensuse or ubuntu. CentOS is more a server distribution, of course you can use it as a desktop environment, it's your choice.
